About Steady Parenting
What this is
Steady Parenting offers short, practical tips for everyday family moments. Each situation helps you respond in the moment, practice a skill together with your child, and follow up later. The ideas are built around social-emotional skills, such as naming feelings, calming down, listening, and solving problems fairly.
What this isn’t
This is general educational guidance for parents of children under 18. It is not therapy, diagnosis, crisis support, or a replacement for professional care. Every family and child is different, so treat the ideas as options to try, not guarantees.
If there is a risk of harm, abuse, or danger, put safety first and contact local emergency services, a crisis line, or another qualified professional right away.
How the guidance is made
- Situations are organized around five social-emotional learning areas: self-awareness, self-management, social awareness, relationship skills, and responsible decision-making.
- Each situation separates what to do right now from skills to practice later, and includes notes for different ages where they help.
- The guidance avoids shaming parents or labeling children, and never asks you to force an apology, a hug, or an agreement.
- When a child-development or family professional contributes a tip or reviews a situation, they are credited by name on that page, with a link to their website.
- The content is currently in draft and has not yet been reviewed by educators or child-development professionals. Draft situations are marked on their pages. We intend to have the content reviewed before public launch, and we’ll say so here once that has happened.
Privacy
- There are no accounts, sign-ups, or logins.
- There is no advertising, and no analytics or tracking tools.
- The site never asks for your child’s name, birth date, photos, or any personal details, and nothing about your family is collected or stored.
- The site is hosted on Cloudflare Pages, which, like any web host, may keep standard server logs.
